German Potatoe Salad (Hot Potatoe Salad) Fry 1/2# bacon, crumble and set aside. Saute 1 lg onion, cut up in bacon drippings. Add 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup vinegar 1/2 cup sugar 1 TBLS corn starch dissolved in some water Stir til smooth, then add 2# sliced, cooked potatoes. Add the crumbled bacon Add salt and pepper to taste. Continue cooking on low to get flavor through potatoes. You can make more or less by changing amounts of ingredients. Just remember equal amounts of each. If you think it is too thick, add a little more of each. This is also good as it cools, so is good to take to picnics and don't have to worry about salad dressing setting not being refrigerated.
