4 cups whole tomatoes, peeled and quartered 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 stick butter, melted 1/2 tsp salt 6 baked biscuits
Mix together the tomatoes, sugar, butter and salt. Crumble the biscuits and add to the mixture. Cover and cook in a saucepan over med heat for 15 min.
Biscuits
2 cups all purpose flour 2/3 cup milk 3 tbsp. shortening 2 tsp baking powder l/4 tsp salt
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add shortening and stir in milk quickly to make dough light & fluffy but not sticky. Knead dough until smooth about 20 times. Roll dough out on a lightly flowered board. Cut into biscuits 1/2" thick. Bake on greased cookie sheet at 450 degrees 12-15 min. Makes 14-16 biscuits
