I am a member of a service organization in my community, Junior Auxiliary. We direct our efforts toward children who are "at risk" of falling through the cracks. We are currently working with a teenager and want to teach her basic kitchen skills, including price comparison shopping and basic meal preparation. Does anyone have suggestions for cookbooks or basic meal plans? Money is a factor so ingredients need to be simple. I have tried the local bookstore but have not found what I think I need. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
