These are a real hit. I almost posted this recipe one day but meant to do a search first to see if it was already here and it slipped my mind. I was afraid that most people around the country wouldn't be familiar with the TastyKake Company or even know what a Tandycake was (poor things) - unless they were from the Philadelphia, PA and surrounding areas. My friend Jane gave me this recipe who got it from her friend Barb, etc. So keep the tradition going and share this with all who want it (and people WILL ask for the recipe once they taste them). So easy, but so good. Great for a crowd.
Peanut Butter Tandycake
4 eggs 2 tablespoons oil 2 cups sugar 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup peanut butter 8 oz. Nestle's Chocolate Chip Morsels 1 tablespoon oil
Cream well the eggs, 2 TBSP oil and sugar. Add flour alternating with milk and vanilla. Blend well. Pour into a greased cookie sheet, 10x15" (with sides, please!) Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes. While still hot, spread on 3/4 cup peanut butter. Cool in refrigerator.
Melt 8 oz. chocolate chips with 1 TBSP oil. Spread over peanut butter and refrigerate. When cool, cut into squares.
Enjoy!
