16 oz Flour 2 oz Butter 8 oz Castor Sugar 8 oz Treacle 2 Tsp Ground Ginger Pinch salt 1 Beaten Egg 1/4 Pt Milk
Mix together thoroughly sugar, flour, salt, ginger. Warm treacle & Marge beat together, add dry ingredients along with egg & milk, mix thoroughly. Pour into cake tin and bake in moderate oven 150 for about 1 hour 15 minutes Wrap in cling film and store in air tight container for a week, serve with butter or custard
