Cream Wafers
1 cup butter, do not use margarine! 1/3 cup whipping cream 2 cups flour granulated sugar Creamy Butter Filling, below
Mix butter, cream & flour thoroughly. Chill 1 hour. Heat oven to 375°. Roll dough 1/8" thick on lightly floured board, cut into 11/2" rounds. Transfer to waxed paper heavily sprinkled with sugar, turn to coat both sides. Place on ungreased baking sheets. Prick in 4 places with a fork. Bake 7 to 9 min., or until puffy. When cool, put together with filling.
Filling - 1/4 cup soft butter, 3/4 cup sifted powdered sugar, and 1 tsp. vanilla. Tint pink or green if desired.
