I am a cook at a cafe in downtown Minneapolis, and we would like to feature some Phillipino foods for a week at the end of the month as part of Asian American Heritage Month. Phillipino food is not widely known and I would greatly appreciate any suggestions any one might have. I'm interested in things that could be served as an entre, although it seems to me from the small amount of research I've done so far that Phillipinos eat a lot of bread items. Or maybe just the tourists that come back to America and talk about their meals on the internet only ate Puto or crab soup while they were there. If anyone knows any guidlines to follow, ie: flavors, ingedients, ect, when making Phillipino food, that info is helpful to me also. If nothing else, with a little guidance I can fake anything. However, I'd rather make something that some one from the Phillipines would want to eat themselves.
Thank you very much.
