Hi....here's my Mom's recipe for hushpuppies. We were raised on them...Mom was from Mississippi and we think they are great! Enjoy!

Hushpuppies

2 cups self-rising white cornmeal
1 small onion, chopped
3/4 cup milk
1 egg, beaten

Combine cornmeal and onion in a bowl. Add milk and egg and mix well. Drop in deep fat by heaping teaspoonfuls and fry at a time until golden brown.
