Hi..Looking for a special, bakery-style Jewish cookie called "kichel". The recipe I need is NOT fried, but baked...crispy, crunchy, airy, light, not dropped from a spoon! It is about as long as a knockwurst, not the
usual cookie shape. But it is puffy, airy, hard and cruncy. I have searched tons of cookbooks, even on-line recipes, and none make this particular kind of kichel.
I can't find it anywhere...it's not made with poppy seeds either, it's not 'mon kichel'...I need to be able to "form" the shape, not drop it on a cookie sheet like all the recipes I've seen have called for. It almost looks like it was squeezed out of a pastry bag, but I've tried a cream puff type of recipe and it did NOT
work....I would be thrilled if someone could find this for me...Thanks so much, Rhonda in Phoenix
