Rebecca, this is a recipe that I got from my Mother years ago. It is one my Mom got from my Grandmother. This is not a light fluffy cake, it is on the heavy side. There are NO eggs or milk. It freezes great, I use a Vanilla icing on it. It makes one 9X13 pan, or 2 8 inch layer pans, 2 8 inch square pans or a 10-12 cup Bubdt or tube pan. This is also a great recipe for muffins or mini loafs. 3 cups all purpose flour, 2 cups white sugar, 1/2 cup cocoa, 2 teaspoons baking soda, 1 teaspoon salt, 2 tablespoons white vinegar, 2 cups tepid water, 1/2 cup vegatable oil, and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. Place all ingreds. in mixing bowl, beat with a mixer till well blended. I like to sift the cocoa. Pour into greased and floured pans. Bake at 350 degrees till toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean. Hope you try this one.
