Just made Octopus hot dogs for my grand kids and they were delighted (saw it in a magazine) perhaps this would work for you.
Lay a hot dog on it's side and cut up to about 1" from the end, turn it and cut again (in 1/4ths), repeat two more time until there are 8 lengthwise sections. Drop them into a pan of boiling water for a few minutes and the "tentacles" spread out.
Melt some butter and color it green with food coloring and stir this into cooked spaghetti until it is all green ("sea weed"). Place a bed of sea weed/spaghetti on the plate and set an octopus/hot dog on top-it stands up. Put a face on it with drops of mustard if desired. It's so fast and easy.
