This is my sister's specialty, she sells them in Charleston S.C. where she lives but please read Betsy post about the brown bags.
Paper Bag Apple Pie
1 unbaked pie crust 3 to 4 large apples, peeled & sliced 1/2 cup sugar 2 Tablespoons lemon juice 2 Tablespoons flour 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg or cinnamon
Combine apples, sugar, lemon juice, flour & nutmeg. Mix and place in pie shell.
Topping: 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cuo flour 1- stick butter or oleo
Cream together until crumbley.Place on top of apple mixture. Sprinkle with more nutmeg or cinnamon.(Optional) Place pie in large, clean (new if possible) paper bag. Fold & secure with large paper clips or wooden clothespins. Place on cookie sheet. Bake at 425 degress for 1 hour.
