Here's my mom's recipe, she's a former
home-econimics teacher who taught in the '50s.

Mom's Cornflake Cookies

1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup white Karo syrup (corn syrup)
1/4 cup peanut butter
1 cup corn flakes

In a saucepan, combine the sugar and Karo.
Bring to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly.
When mixture comes to a full boil, remove from heat
immediately.

Stir in peanut butter and mix thoroughly.
Add 1 cup of corn flakes (or any other dry cereal such
as raisin bran, total etc.)
Drop by teaspoon fulls onto a cookie sheet or dish and
let cool.

Cornflakes Marshmallow Treats

1/4 cup margarine
4 cups miniature marshmallows
5 cups Kellogg's Corn Flakes
optional: green food coloring, red-hot cinnamon
candies

Melt the margarine and marshmallows, slowly over low
heat. Add corn flakes and food coloring, if desired.
Shape into miniature wreath shapes and decorate with
red-hot cinnamon candies, if desired.

This also makes a cute, edible centerpiece. Make one
large wreath and place on platter. I have also set
votives in the middle when using as a centerpiece.

You could also add bows using the red licorice strings.

These can also be made as individual treats.
