I have never made these, but I have eaten them. You're right, they are good. More like candy than cookies, wouldn't you say?

CANDY BAR COOKIES

1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter (not margarine)
about 40 saltine crackers
1 (11.5 oz) bag milk chocolate chips
3/4 c. chopped pecans, almonds, or walnuts

Bring butter and sugar to a boil. Boil 3 minutes. Cover jelly roll pan with aluminum foil; grease foil. Lay 40 saltines on foil; pour butter/sugar mixture over saltines. Bake at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top. They melt fast and are then easy to spread. Sprinkle top with chopped nuts. Cool 15 minutes.
Separate, cut and store in air tight container.
