This is from the real old booklet that came with my Mother's cookie press back in the 50's. It has different recipes than are in the more contemporary booklets.
PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES
FOR THE MIRRO COOKIE PRESS
1 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup granulated white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1 tablespoon hot water
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
Cream the shortening and add sugars together well.
Beat in egg, peanut butter, and hot water.
Gradually blend in the sifted flour mixture and mix well.
Fill the cookie press. Form the cookies onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake at 375 degrees F for 10-12 minutes. Remove at once to cooling racks.
