Hi Norma,

Sorry to say I've encountered the same thing sometimes. I think it's just that some brands are more bitter (and to my mind, foul tasting) than others. You could try rinsing them off before using them, but my inclination would be to just throw them out. I've had better luck with the olives packed in tubs from the deli section; the black olives with herbs are good, as are the green ones with herbs.
