Thanks, Betsy, for sharing your recipe.

Wouldn't ya know it? Minutes after posting my search plea, I *found* the missing recipe!

So... here it is, with credit to Williams=Sonoma.

Coffee Bourbon Granita

3 cups double-strength brewed coffee (hot), preferably from French roast beans
3/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp bourbon
whipped cream (optional)

Combine coffee, sugar, bourbon. Stir to dissolve sugar. Pour into metal pan that holds liquid to depth of 1 in. Put pan in freezer. When it begins to get icy, after about an hour, stir well with fork to break up crystals. Freeze again for 45 minutes, break up crystals with fork. Repeat two more times.

To serve, scrape surface with tines of fork to re-create the crystals. Scoop up crystals, serve in stemmed glass. Top with whipped cream if desired.
