This may sound weird, but it is delicious!
Strawberry Buttermilk Sherbet 4 cups unsweetened strawberries (1 pound individually frozen) 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup buttermilk 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice Put sugar in food processor and pulse a few times to make it finer. Add strawberries and use an on/off motion to process until finely chopped.
Stir together buttermilk and lemon juice in a measuring cup and with the machine running, pour through the feed tube. Process until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the work bowl once or twice.
The sherbet should be firm enough to be served directly from the food processor, but if it is a little soft, let it harden in the freezer for about 1/2 hour. Makes about 3 cups
