I believe that this is the same frosting that my aunt used to make when I was growing up. The closest I could come to finding a recipe is in the
my old Home Companion cookbook - and it is called
"Penuche" frosting in that book. Check your cookbooks out for that name - and I think that you will find that it is the "burnt" sugar frosting.
