Hi Connie:-> My troop made this all the time when we went on our canoe trips in The Adirondacks. I was a mariner scout in NY State, and since we were so far from the ocean and didn't have the opportunity to sail, we went on canoe trips, most of which were on the Fulton Chain Lakes. I am pretty sure that it was 1 lb. of ground beef browned and drained and a can of Campbell's Vegetable Soup, undiluted. Of course this was an easy recipe to double, triple etc. I remember making this for DH on a camping trip that we went on many years ago as well. He suggested adding some chopped onions which I sauteed with the ground beef. I would highly recommend the addition of the onions since they added a lot of flavor. I don't think it needed salt since the undiluted soup was very salty but ground black pepper makes it better too. Your post brought back some very wonderful memories of those trips which were in the days of being young and very carefree:->!!!!
