Anise Candy
1 c. sugar 3/4 c. light syrup 1/4 c. water 1/2 tsp. oil of anise
Boil together sugar, light syrup and water to hard crack stage (or 300 degrees). Put in red or green food coloring. Add oil of anise; stir. Grease pan and pour mixture in. Let stand until hard. Break into pieces.
