Brownie Pudding Cake
1 cup flour 1/2 cup sugar 2 tbls. unsweetened cocoa powder 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 cup milk 2 tbls. cooking oil 1 tsp vanilla 3/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
In a large mixing bowl, stir together flour, 1/2 cup sugar, the 2 tbls cocoa, baking powder and salt. Add milk, oil and vanilla, stir till smooth. Stir in nuts. Spread batter in an ungreased 8x8x2 inch baking pan.
In another bowl, combine 3/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa. Gradually stir in 1 1/2 cups boiling water. Pour liquid evenly over batter in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve warm, over ice cream if desired. Can be served chilled, also. Makes 8 small or 4 large servings. |
