1 pk (8 0z. size) cream cheese -Milkcote or whitecoat chocolate 3/4 c Finely chopped pecans Cream the cream cheese and add pecans. Chill until cheese will form balls. Dip balls into melted whitecoat or milkcote chocolate coating. Makes about 25 balls. Source: Ideals Candy Cookbook by Mildred Brand
Smoked Salmon Cream Cheese Balls
16 ounces softened cream cheese 8 ounces chopped smoked salmon 3 green onions, chopped 1/4 cup sour cream 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce 1/2 teaspoon horseradish 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder with parsley 1/4 teaspoon pepper 3/4 cup chopped walnuts 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, chopped smoked salmon, chopped green onions, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, garlic powder, and pepper. Chill at least 1 hour. Shape into 1-inch balls and roll in chopped walnuts then chopped parsley. Cover and chill for at least 4 hours. Serves 24.
Blue Cheese Ball
8 oz. softened cream cheese 2 oz. Maytag blue cheese sour cream or mayonnaise 1/3 cup pecans, chopped very fine
Mix cream cheese and blue cheese together. Add some sour cream or mayonnaise to make it smoother and easier to spread. Chill, divide into 2 small balls, and roll each ball in pecans. |
