Hi Diedra! I read your request and I do work in a bakery. Alot of your bakeries get their icing in a cube that they put into a mixing bowl, and add water to. We do make ours from scratch and the only thing I can tell you that might give it a good flavor is something we use called Butter Emulsifier. I'm not even sure if you can find it in stores, but it has a vanilla like smell to it. It just gives our icing a nice flavor and alot of people seem to like it. You use even amounts of it and the vanilla, in your recipe. Hope this has been of some help.
