I start with approx 6 cups of COLD tap water. I have a medium size aluminum pan I use only for tea. I use Luzianne regular size bags. I pull the tags off 6 of these bags and put them in the cold water. Over high heat...I let this tea seep, stirring occasionaly... it will start to gently boil.... I let it boil for approx. 2 1/2 to 3 minutes..... in the meantime, I measure approx 1 cup of white granulated sugar (more if you like real sweet tea) into a gallon pitcher. I then pour the hot tea over the sugar...squeezing the excess out of the tea bags. Stir the hot tea to make sure all the sugar is dissolved...add cold water to fill the pitcher....stir it up good...and serve cold. That's GOOD SOUTHERN SWEET TEA!!! I hope ya'll enjoy!!!!
