ORIENTAL MEAT LOAF
1 lb. lean ground beef 1 lb. lean ground pork 1 cup fine fresh bread crumbs 1 cup finely chopped onion 3/4 cup finely chopped green onion 1/2 cup finely chopped drained water chestnuts 1/2 cup finely chopped fresh parsley 1/3 cup dry sherry wine 1 large egg, lightly beaten 2 tbsp. dark soy sauce 2 tbsp. peanut or vegetable oil 1 tbsp. finely minced garlic 1 to 2 tbsp. finely chopped fresh ginger root Salt & pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients. Press into a loaf pan or casserole.
Bake in 350F oven 1 hour or until done.
CRUNCHY MEATLOAF ORIENTAL
2 lb. ground beef 1 medium onion, chopped 3/4 cup fine bread crumbs 1 medium green pepper, chopped 1/2 cup finely chopped water chestnuts 1/3 cup ketchup 1/4 cup milk 2 eggs, beaten 3 tbsp. soy sauce 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper
Combine all ingredients mixing well. Shape into loaf and place on rack in shallow baking pan.
Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour or until done.
