Hi Sandra,

Marzipan is usually made with ground almonds/almond paste. The rose water is an optional flavoring. If you're looking for a recipe that doesn't use almonds, here are a few for you to check out:

The marzipan variations without nuts may not be a good substitution in some recipes. Also, some marzipan recipes use raw egg and that is no longer recommended. Substitute pasteurized egg products or use this information to prepare the eggs before using:

Cooking Eggs, Egg Whites, or Egg Yolks for Use in Recipes Calling for Raw Eggs
