Hi Sandra, Marzipan is usually made with ground almonds/almond paste. The rose water is an optional flavoring. If you're looking for a recipe that doesn't use almonds, here are a few for you to check out: Jello Marzipan FruitsBoard: Daily Recipe Swap at Recipelink.com Alternative to Marzipan(confectioner's sugar and cream cheese) Board: All Baking and Breadmaking at Recipelink.com From: Wendy/England 12-17-2001 Pistachio Marzipan Board: International Recipes at Recipelink.com Almond Paste, Almond Filling and Frangipane Filling (8) Board: Cooking Club at Recipelink.com From: Janet 6-6-1997 The marzipan variations without nuts may not be a good substitution in some recipes. Also, some marzipan recipes use raw egg and that is no longer recommended. Substitute pasteurized egg products or use this information to prepare the eggs before using: Cooking Eggs, Egg Whites, or Egg Yolks for Use in Recipes Calling for Raw Eggs If this doesn't answer your question, please feel free to post again.
