i am about to go crazy! i have been looking for a recipe for about 15 years. i used to live in the pascagoula/moss point mississippi area in 1992. i had a friend who's mother made this treat called pecan candy. i absolutely loved this treat. one thing that i truly regret is not learning to make it. when madea would make this candy, one thing that i remember is she said you could never stop stirring. and to check to see if it was done, she would drop a nickel sized piece into a cup of cold water. if it would stay firm when she scooped it out, it was done. madea always had this treat on hand when i would go to her house with my friend, so i never learned to make it, and she just called it "pecan candy". i would ABSOLUTELY LOVE TO REDISCOVER THIS BEAUTIFUL SOUTHERN TREAT. but as of yet, i continue to come up empty. if anyone has any info, i would be so grateful. finding this recipe would sorta close a chapter in my life. i really have been searching for this recipe all of this time. so someone, anyone, please help!
