FRIED MACARONI AND CHEESE
1 box macaroni and cheese Few cubes cheddar cheese FOR THE BATTER: 1 cup flour 3/4 cup milk Breadcrumbs Oil for deep frying (around 350 degrees F)
Prepare macaroni according to package directions but do not add the butter. Fold in cheese cubes. Spread warm cheesy pasta on a non-stick sheet pan and let chill in refrigerator until firm to the touch, about an hour.
WHEN READY TO COOK: Cut chilled macaroni and cheese into squares.
For the batter, mix flour and milk together to form a batter. Place the breadcrumbs in a shallow bowl.
Dip macaroni squares into the batter then coat with the breadcrumbs.
Fry in heated oil until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper.
