Furr's Pecan Surprise Pie (or Ritz Cracker Surprise Pie) is a long time favorite. I've been making it since the early 60's. However no one mentions to form the meringue-like mixture around the sides and bottom of greased pie plate - like a "crust, then bake. Then mound up the whipped cream or cool whip in this "crust".
It is one of the best and no one ever guesses there are Ritz crackers in it.
