On a cold day, maybe you would enjoy this recipe. My mom grew up in Massachusetts and will be 75 this year. My husband likes to take the basic recipe and add other things like shrimp, crab, etc.

Mom's New England Fish Chowder

bacon slices
onions
2 cups potatoes in chunks
2 cups hot water
1 1/2 pounds white fish
2 cups milk
1 package corn

Brown bacon and onions in bottom of dutch oven. Add potatoes and hot water and cook until potatoes are partly done, about 10 minutes. Add fish and cook until flaked with fork. Season and add milk. Heat through but do not boil. Top with butter and paprika.
