Jody - I make these at Christmas and they're very good, don't know if this is quite what you're looking for but it's got to be pretty close>
COATED WALNUTS
1-1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. sour cream
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
1# can of shelled walnuts
Directions:
Bring first three ingredients to a boil, then boil 2 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
Immediately stir in the walnuts.
Spread immediately in single layer on large cookie sheet. Let cool, then separate (they kind of clump together whle they're cooling) for storage.
I store these in an airtight container, like a small coffee can, or small tin.
They store very well. I don't refrigerate them, of course they don't usually last very long either!
