BANANA CAKE I don't know the origin of this recipe. My Mom makes it and it's wonderful!
1 stick margarine 1/2 c. oil 2 c. sugar 4 eggs 1/2 c. raisins, cut up 2 c. chopped pecans 3 c. flour 2 t. soda 1-1/2 t. cloves 1/2 t. salt 2-1/2 t. cinnamon 6 ripe bananas, mashed 1/2 c. candied cherries, cut up
Cream butter, oil, & sugar. Add well-beaten eggs. Add nuts, cherries, and raisins that have been rolled in a little flour mixture. Sift together flour, spices, salt, & soda. Add alternately with mashed banana.
Bake in 13x9 pan for 45 min. to 1 hour. (This cake is even better after a day or 2!)
