Cheddar Cheese Bread
2 1/4 t. bread machine yeast 3 cups bread flour 1/4 cup nonfat dry milk 1 T butter 1 t. salt 2 T. sugar 1 1/4 cups warm water 1 1/2 cups shredded extra-sharp cheddar cheese
Use all ingredients at room temperature.
Use "white bread" setting and light or medium crust.
I vary it a bit by adding basil, oragano, rosemary, thyme, garlic or onion sometimes.
This is one of my cousin's recipes.
It helps me when I look at a new bread machine recipe to remember that my Red Star machine can take up to 3 cups of flour and a cup of water. I have stretched it to 4 cups total and 1 1/4 cups of liquid and it works, I just end up with a strange looking loaf of bread.
Some chopped sun dried tomatoes are also good in this recipe.
