This one is easy to make and a dream to devour.

Vanilla Ice Cream

2 vanilla pods (you can use good quality vanilla extract but the taste won´t be quite the same)
6 egg yolks
7 oz sugar (or to taste)
2 cups milk (not low-fat or skim)
2 cups heavy cream

Split vanilla pods and strip out the seeds. Put yolks, sugar and seeds in a bowl and whisk together. Put pods in saucepan with milk and
heat until just below boil. Whisk hot milk into yolk mixture. Pour back into pan (or into a double boiler) and whisk constantly over low heat, until the
mixture is thick enough to coat the back of the spoon. Remove from heat and
stir in the cream. Pour through sieve. Pour into ice cream maker and churn.
