Just thought i'd share this. This is a great cake for this time of year as it is very good with fresh sliced and sugared fruits such as strawberries, raspberries or peaches. Cottage Pudding 1/3 cup shortening 1 cup sugar 2 eggs 1-1/2 cups flour 1/2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 cup milk 2/3 tsp. vanilla
Cream together shortening and sugar. Add unbeaten eggs and beat thoroughly. Sift flour and measure. Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with milk and vanilla. Stir only enough to blend ingredients together. Pour into greased pan 8 x8 inches. Bake 375% for about 25 minuets. Serve with fresh sliced fruit and rich milk or whipped cream. Enjoy
