With summer winding down, why not take advantage of the last great days of b-b-qing and make some great steaks on the grill, along with some herbed roasted potatoes, some veggies on the grill are always terrific too. Add some chocolate mousse (there are tons of great ones here at TKL...personally I do the 60 second blender one...or I take l large box of instant pudding, mix it with 1 1/2 c. milk or even more decadent, heavy cream, mix well (it will be very thick) and then fold in a large container of cool whip, chill, serve in pretty cups with cookies along side. A nice pot of marinara with meatballs or sausage is easy too, pair this with a nice Caesar, garlic bread and a fruit sorbet and you've got a winner! Fish on the grill is nice too. Above all, remember your guests are visiting to see YOU, not alot of fussy cooking that will take away from your precious time together. I know you want everything to be perfect, but the more relaxed and less frazzled you are, the more fun I'm sure you will have. Hope this helps and lots of luck...and FUN! BTW, you didn't say what you had planned for the weekend, but it's o.k.to...eat out too!!! |
