Here's a dessert recipe that I believe is from around that time. I also have two versions of plum pudding, one that is over 100 years old from my great-grandmother and one that is modern from my mother. If you want those, just reply and I'll check the board.

Indian Pudding (an old Girl Scout recipe)

1/4 cup corn meal
1 cup cold water
1 tsp salt
2 cups scalded milk
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup sugar
1/4-1/2 cup molasses
1 Tblsp butter
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1 cup cold milk
vanilla ice cream

Mix together corn meal, water, and salt. Add milk and bring to a boil. Cook for 10 minutes, stirring very often. Blend in a mixture of egg, sugar, molasses, butter, and spices. Pour into buttered 1 quart casserole and bake at 300 for 1/2 hour. Stir in milk and bake 2 hours more. Serve hot with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of each serving.
