In upstate NY we have a saying about the corn, "knee-high" by the Fourth of July. You usually can't plant your corn until Memorial Day or you risk a frost! Now I live in FL and can get corn and strawberries early in the summer and go up north to visit my folks and hit their peak growing season later. I have a lot of good memories of eating my folks' garden produce with good friends and relatives.
