Hi everyone. Thought you might be interested in an Aussie recipe. Did you know that macadamias are native to Australia? I bought the wattleseed from David Jones but you can also get them on the net from the Vital Ingredient (vitaling.com.au) Wattleseed and Macadamia biscuits (cookies) 1 cup plain flour 3/4 cup sugar 1 teaspoon ground wattleseed 3/4/ cup coconut 3/4 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup crushed macadamia nuts 130 g butter 1 tablespoon golden syrup 1/2 teaspoon bicarb of soda 2 tablespoons boiling water
Combine flour, sugar, wattleseed, coconut, rolled oats and nuts. In a pan combine butter and golden syrup, stir over a gentle heat until melted. Dissolve bicarb in boiling water, add to butter mixture and stir into dry ingredients. Press mixture into a soup spoon to shape and turn out and flatten onto lightly greased baking trays. Allow room for spreading. Bake in a mod. oven (180C) for 12 - 15 mins. Remove and cool. Makes 32
