Will elaborate on kt/mn answer because the recipe in the Betty Crocker Book I have (same name...Cherry Berries on a Cloud gives the recipe for individual meringue shells as follows. My Mom used to make these and served strawberries in them. They are a lovely dessert. I assume brown package wrapping paper is what is meant, I would think parchment paper would work. Recipe also says can be shaped into 1 9-inch round circle and make 1 large shell.
INDIVIDUAL MERINGUE SHELLS
Heat oven to 275 degrees F. Cover baking sheet with heavy brown paper.
Beat 3 egg whites (1/3 to 1/2 cup) and 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar until foamy. Beat in 3/4 cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time; continue beating until stiff and glossy. Do not underbeat.
Drop meringue by 1/3 cupfuls onto brown paper. Shape mounds into circles, building up sides.
Bake 1 hour. Turn off oven; leave meringues in oven with door closed 1 1/2 hours. Remove from oven; finish cooling meringues away from draft.
Makes 8 to 10 shells.
