Go with Betsy's recipe -- it's the one I made for the winter holidays last year and it was just wonderful (packed one pure-D devilish kick, too, I'm told).
A simple, fun recipe and easy. (Honey, it doesn't get any easier than this!). We even had some Bacardi on hand (pure-D luck!), so the syrup's aroma was lovely. Now, I was not in the best of health back then, so I did not even attempt a taste; however, Miz Nicole said it packed a wallop much akin to Mr. Forman's during his former career...
The chocolate version calls for whipped cream which, when tottin' to events 50 miles distant, is silly. Now, homemade Vanilla frozen custard...oooooh, David, wouldn't that be just heavenly.
