Hello Pat,

This looks like it might be the recipe you're looking for:

Swedish Spiced Nuts
From: Cookbook USA

4 cups walnuts, pecans, Brazil nuts (unsalted)
2 egg whites
1 cup sugar
An assortment of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, cardamom, allspice (about 3 tsp. in all)

Make a meringue of egg whites; beat until stiff. Add sugar by tablespoonfuls. Add spice. Stir in nuts. Coat with meringue. Pour onto 2 greased cookie sheets. Bake at 300 degrees, stirring frequently to separate nuts. Bake until coating is dry.

If that isn't it, we have several recipes in our archives (many without Worcestershire) very similar to what you're describing - I haven't seen any others with cardamom, but I'm sure you can add it to the ingredients with good results. To view them, click the Search button at the bottom of this message and in the search box that appears enter: spiced nuts A list of recipes to choose from will appear on the left - the first file includes 15 recipes and many more below that.

Happy Holiday Cooking,

Betsy
