Generic Pound Cake
Take the weight of 4 eggs in butter, flour and sugar [weigh each ingredient].
Use creaming method. Large cake tin 350oF 75mins approx.

Generic Butter Cake
For 1 egg, take 1/4 c butter, 1/3 c sugar, 1 c self-rising flour [all-purpose flour/ baking powder], 1/4 c milk plus vanilla to taste
Double amount for 7" cake tin. All-in-together method 375oF 30 mins OR creaming method 375oF for 40 mins.

Generic Victoria Sponge Cake
For 1 egg, take 1/4 c butter, 1/4 c caster [superfine] sugar, 1/2 c self-rising flour [or all-purpose flour/ baking powder]
Cream butter/sugar, add egg. Fold flour in carefully. Produces 2 cupas batter [7" sandwich cake tin] 190oC 20 mins.
