I too, had a Mother that made a Rhubarb Jam with Orange Candy slices. I thought the recipe was lost till I found it in a Farm Journal's Canning Freezing Cookbook; first copyright 1963,1964,1973, 1978. We came from a Wales Settlement in Wisconsin. My Mother made this every summer for us.

Rhubarb/Orange Conserve
Makes 6 half pints

5 cups Red Rhubarb
1 lb. Candy Orange slices
3 cups Sugar

To measure rhubarb, cut into 1/3" cubes. Cut candy slices into eighths. Mix rhubarb and sugar in a wide saucepan. Stir constantly over high heat. When the mixture begins to boil, add the orange candy pieces. Continue boiling and stiring until the mixture thickens to a jelly-like consistency. Ladle into sterilized hot jelly jars to within 1/8" of jar top. Wipe jar rim; adjust lids. Process in boiling water bath 5 minutes. Remove from canner and complete seals unless closures are self-sealing type.
