Hi and thanks for your reply...

No luck with the search here for Materhorn cheese loaf... Since he made it for me last week, I know that I have seen the recipe before...maybe in an old cookbook somewhere...it sort of reminds me of a of a 50-60's recipe when people were experimenting with doing those weird international dishes... It was good, but bland...so I think he may have left something out...

Bacon strips, swiss cheese slices is sandwiched between cuts in a loaf of french bread, drenched with a butter, mustard, onion, garlic mixture and put under the broiler...at least that's his version... Grin!
Also, the banana split cake seems to be a cake recipe...Possibly banana cake with all the stuff...
