In the 1950's my Mother made something called "cookie rolls." They were basically refrigerator cinnamon crescents which were chewier than yeast rolls, more like cookies. The dough was sweeter than regular yeast dough, and delicious. When she took it out of the fridge to finish the cookies it was full of little hand marks, and missing areas of dough. She rolled the dough into circles, put butter, sugar, and cinnamon on top. Then she cut the circle into wedges and rolled them up. They were like wonderful, sweet, chewy cinnamon rolls. How I would love to make them for my family. |
