In Puerto Rico we prepare a very special stew with chunks of well washed & marinated in lime juice pork liver, known as "GANDINGA DE CERDO". It is delicious, with wine, potatoes, chopped pimentos and onions, also crushed garlic and chopped cilantro. The stew is served over white rice with boiled green plantains or bananas as accompaniment to the dish.
It is just a matter of cultural differences but after a while, everybody not only gets used to it but loves it.
