Hi Liz,
I'm not exactly sure this is what you are looking for but it's a wonderful recipe we have had in our family for 40 years. We never ate it hot but I suppose you could. I always made it with the addition of orange juice and rind and it was a huge hit with all!

Sunshine Lemon Cake

1 box yellow cake mix
1 (3-ounce) pkg. lemon jello
3/4 cup water
3/4 cup salad oil
4 eggs

Topping:
2 cups powdered sugar
Juice and rind of 2 lemons
Juice and rind of 1 or 2 oranges (optional)

Place first 5 ingredients in mixer bowl and beat for 3 minutes. Pour into greased and floured 9x13 baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly depressed.

While cake is baking prepare topping. Topping should be the consistency of maple syrup. Adjust amount of juice if necessary.

When you take the cake from the oven poke holes all over cake with a fork. Pour topping over hot cake.
