Dear Jennifer,
I have a Watkins cookbook, published in 1936 by the J.R. Watkins Company. They made spices and extracts and the products were often sold door-to-door, I believe. At least one of my relatives said she remembers the Watkins man coming around. Here is a list of what's in the cookbook. The recipes don't seem very different from a lot of our cake recipes today. I left out the Angel Food Cake recipes from the list because they haven't changed in all these years! If any of them sound interesting to you, please post a message and I'll type it in for you.
